A passenger who is a parent, adoptive parent, guardian, Trustee, foster carer or other substitute person who, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on marriage and family, takes care of and protects the rights and interests of the child, if the relevant documents are available:
1) carries one child under the age of 7 free of charge, if they do not occupy a separate seat. To occupy a separate seat for a child under 7 years of age, you must purchase a discounted travel document (ticket). When traveling with a passenger for more than one child under 7 years of age, all other children, except one, are purchased preferential travel documents (tickets);
2) carries children aged from 7 to 15 years on discounted travel documents (tickets).
Children's travel documents are issued at the age of 5 to 10 when traveling in domestic traffic in trains formed by other railway administrations.
Children aged 7 to 15 years are charged 50% of the fare set for an adult passenger on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Travel documents (tickets) are purchased for children 15 years and older, just like for adults. The child's age is determined on the day the trip starts.
A document confirming the child's age must be presented at the ticket office and when boarding the train.
A passenger who is not a legal representative of the child must present a document for the right to accompany the child (power of attorney) to the ticket office and when boarding the train.
Children from 15 (fifteen) years old and older are allowed to travel unaccompanied by an adult with the written consent of his legal representative, issued in the form of a notarized power of attorney.
