Waiting list – Your best assistant when looking for railways tickets.

Starting July 1, 2019, KTZH initiated development of new assistant using it’s internal resources, assistant will help passengers find tickets when there are no seats available on sale. Waiting list is the unique Kazakhstan technology that allows to significantly decrease the problems with purchasing tickets for the general population.

For the first two months of full work of the waiting list the results have exceeded all the possible expectations. Over 52 thousand passengers found seats and purchased tickets. More than 89 thousand passengers found seats but decided not to purchase them. In general Waiting list processed 239 thousand applications. It means that the waiting list was able to satisfy 141 thousand applications out of 239 thousand, that is 59% of all the applications. These numbers are truly impressive, because it all was achieved without increase in the number of seats offered.

One should note that the implementation of the Waiting has hit hard at speculators, because these 52 thousand passengers who used the list would have to apply to them before.
Kazakhstan is the leader in introducing digital technologies at railways in the area of passenger transportation and were the first country to introduce fully automated Waiting list. It is important to note that the human factor is full negligible as Waiting list is not human managed at all.
